AMCL Rules

Like every registered co-operative, the AMCL has a set of rules that satisfies the Registrar of Co-operatives. These rules form a contract between the AMCL and its members.

A full set of rules is available to any member or interested party on request. Below is an outline of a few important ones:

* The primary activity of the Co-operative is to provide rehabilitation, paramedical treatment, education and practice development support services for the benefit of its members and their referred patients as an extension and under the supervision and/or direction of the referring members.
* In order to remain a member of the Co-operative a member must be an 'active member'. An active member is a member who: Actively supports the services and facility of the Co-operative by referring a minimum of 3 patients for treatment by an AMCL service partner during each 2 month period or 18 patients per annum.
* The right to vote attaches to membership in the Co-operative and is not determined by the number of shares held. Only active members of the Co-operative are eligible to vote.
* Each member shall, on admission to membership of the Co-operative hold 2000 shares.
* At all times medical practitioners for the service compliance must constitute at least 80% of the members.
